President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology receives main Principal of Hanoi University of Science and Technology

On the morning of October 15, 2021, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh, had the first official meeting with the new main Principal of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest. The event also drew the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh – Principal of USTH.

New main Principal, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, begins his term on October 1, 2021. This is the first official meeting of the VAST President with the new main Principal of USTH since taking office. At the meeting, President Minh showed his belief that Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest continues to lead USTH to develop and achieve more in all fields of activity with his rich experience.

Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest made a presented plan and strategic orientations for USTH development in the future in terms of training activities, scientific and technological research and domestic and international cooperation, including postgraduate training; promoting cooperation with business sector and institutes; expanding the school's scale and increasing the number of international students; USTH's Hoa Lac Campus construction project; and consolidating the University Council for the 2012-2026 term.

GS. Jean-Marc Lavest thanked the Academy Leadership for the great support for USTH over the past 10 years and hoped to continue receiving this valuable support in the future. Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh affirmed that they will closely coordinate and make efforts to bring USTH further development, achieving the assigned goals and tasks.
