Pilot production of functional food CAFETASO
CAFETASO hard capsule product is the result of the experimental production project "Production of functional product CAFETASO to support the treatment of kidney stones and gallstones from Vietnamese plants", code UDSXTN.04/19-20, chaired by Prof. Nguyen Quyet Tien from the Institute of Chemistry, implemented from January 2019 to December 2020, and has been accepted and classified as Excellent. The project has successfully built a technological process for the production of CAFETASO inoculants to support kidney stones, gallstones from Coffea arabica L. and Enhydra fluctuans L. at the pilot scale; determined the safety of using CAFETASO through the evaluation of the acute toxicity of LD50 and its semi-chronic; Successfully produced over 60,000 CAFETASO capsules to support the treatment of kidney stones, gallstones from Coffea arabica L. and Enhydra fluctuans L. with new technology.
CAFETASO hard capsules clearly define the main chemical components of 2 types of Coffea arabica L. and Enhydra fluctuans L. and digestive health-promoting indicators according to Ministry of Health's criteria. It has the effect of supporting the treatment of kidney stones and gallstones quite well with relatively cheap cost due to the use of available medicinal herbs easily purchased in Vietnam.
The implementation of the project aims to inherit, promote and modernize good remedies, precious experiences of traditional medicine, step by step develop the pharmaceutical industry, reduce dependence on imports. The results of the project will be transferred, applied and deployed at the Essential Oils and Aromatics Joint Stock Company and other pharmaceutical companies.
