Organizing the 2nd French - Vietnamese class: "Membrane technology for treating agricultural and food industry wastewater" in Ho Chi Minh City

Following the success of the French-Vietnamese summer school on Membrane Technology held in Hanoi in 2011, the Institute of Environmental Technology and UNESCO-SIMEV organized the second class with the theme "Membrane technology for water treatment." discharging agriculture and food industry ”in Ho Chi Minh City for 05 days (24-23/2014). The course aims to develop research and application of membrane technology in environmental protection in Vietnam, especially in the South of Vietnam.

Lecturers for the course are leading experts in the field of membrane technology at universities, research institutes and businesses of France, Czech Republic, Italy and Vietnam. The lectures mainly focus on the issues of film material fabrication, material improvements to increase filtration efficiency and minimize technical problems in the operation of membrane filtration equipment and applications. Membrane technology in treating environmental pollution, recovering materials from waste for reuse, reducing material costs in the production process, towards waste-free agriculture and industry. In addition to lectures by foreign lecturers, the introduction of 03 lectures program of professors from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. Ho Chi Minh and GreenTech have helped foreign experts to capture more information about the environment and technology in Vietnam, thereby having ideas to guide information exchange activities throughout the course.


Students attending classes are mostly lecturers, researchers, experts currently working in research institutes, universities, and state management agencies in the area of science, technology and environment. Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces. In particular, this course also has the participation of 05 foreign students, including 04 researchers at the Cambodia Institute of Technology and 01 Japanese business manager.


With the method of designing alternating programs between theoretical sessions, presentations on practical applications, field trips and roundtable conferences, the students and lecturers of the course have many opportunities. exchanging information, discussing the orientation of developing materials manufacturing technology and applying membrane technology into practice in Vietnam.
