New species of plant belonging to Taccaceae discovered in Hon Ba, Khanh Hoa
The new species Tacca khanhhoaensis V.S. Dang & Vuong has similar characteristics to the other two Taccaceae species, Tacca chantrieri André which is distributed on a wide area and Tacca ampliplacenta L. Zhang & Q.-J. Li which is only found in Yunnan, China. However, the Tacca khanhhoaensis V.S. Dang & Vuong species has distinct characteristics compared to the two species mentioned above in the fact that its flowers are shorter than the leaves, with the smaller number of flowers and the color of the flowers.
