Natural Science and Technology Publishing House continues to win awards at 7th National Book Awards Ceremony in 2024

On November 29, 2024, the Party Central Committee (PCC) Commission on Popularization and Education, in coordination with the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Publishing Association, and Vietnam Television, organized the 7th National Book Awards Ceremony at the Hanoi Opera House. The awards honor outstanding books and series for their intellectual, ideological and aesthetic value, aiming to recognize authors, translators, scientists and publishing professionals while contributing to the discovery, preservation and promotion of valuable works to readers. It also seeks to foster the development of the publishing industry in line with national direction and international integration trends.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC, Head of the PCC Commission on Popularization and Education; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, PCC member and Minister of Information and Communications; along with representatives from ministries, agencies, authors, translators, publishers, book professionals and book enthusiasts.

The 7th National Book Awards in 2024 saw participation from 51 out of 57 publishers (10 more publishers than the 6th awards) with 372 book titles and series, comprising 455 individual books across categories such as Politics and Economics; Social Sciences and Humanities; Natural Science and Technology; Culture, Literature, and Arts; Children's Books; and Reader-Favorite Books.

The organizing committee presented awards to 58 works, including 3 First Prizes, 10 Second Prizes, 21 Third Prizes, 21 Consolation Prizes, and 4 Reader-Favorite Book Awards.

The Natural Science and Technology Publishing House, under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, was honored with 1 Third Prize for the book "Silica Nanomaterials: Synthesis and Biomedical Applications" by author Nguyen Dai Hai, and 1 Consolation Prize for the book "Natural and Synthetic Apatite Applications in Environmental Treatment" by authors Dinh Thi Mai Thanh (chief editor), Nguyen Thu Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thom, Pham Thi Nam, Nguyen Hong Nam, Nguyen Trung Dung, Mai Huong and Nguyen Thi Hue.

Prof. Dr. Tran Tuan Anh, Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, attended the ceremony and extended his congratulations and encouragement to the publishing house and award-winning authors for their achievements at the 2024 National Book Awards Ceremony.

With its achievements at the 7th National Book Awards in 2024, the Natural Science and Technology Publishing House continues to firmly affirm its position in Vietnam's publishing industry. It successfully introduces and promotes valuable publications in the fields of science and technology to a wide readership, contributing to encouraging a reading culture and fostering the development of the publishing industry in line with integration trends.
