In response to Vietnam Science, Technology and Innovation Day (May 18), and to commemorate the 51st anniversary of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (May 20, 1975–May 20, 2026), the Institute of Oceanography organised the “Museum Open Day 2026” programme on May 18, 2026 at the Museum of Oceanography.

The programme was held at the Institute of Oceanography headquarters (1 Cau Da Street, Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province) in two sessions, from 9:00–10:00 a.m. and 3:00–4:00 p.m., attracting more than 50 visitors to experience the Institute’s dynamic research environment. A highlight of the programme was a tour of the coral and Nemo clownfish breeding facilities, enabling the public to gain first-hand insight into the research, care and conservation of marine organisms currently being carried out by the Institute.

“Museum Open Day 2026” provided an opportunity for the public to explore the scientific value and marine resources of Vietnam, helping to inspire a passion for discovering nature, raise awareness of marine environmental protection, and promote the spirit of innovation, community responsibility and love for the ocean – one of the nation’s most valuable natural resources.
