Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Visits and Works with Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology on Nuclear Physics and Atomic Technology

On May 22, 2026, a delegation from the Russian Federation led by Mr. Mogilevsky Konstantin Ilyich, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, visited and worked with Institute of Physics under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). The working session aimed to exchange cooperation opportunities in the fields of nuclear physics, atomic technology, and high-quality human resource training. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Trung, Director of the Institute of Physics, chaired the meeting.

Overview of the meeting

At the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Trung emphasized the role of international cooperation in promoting basic scientific research and high-tech applications, especially in the context where science and technology are becoming vital drivers for socio-economic development and energy security assurance. Mr. Mogilevsky Konstantin Ilyich also introduced potential cooperation orientations in the fields of nuclear physics and atomic technology, while expressing the desire to expand joint research programs, academic exchanges, and training cooperation with Vietnamese research institutions.

Within the framework of the program, the delegation visited the JINR Information Center at the Institute of Physics, the International Center of Physics, and several specialized laboratories such as the Photonics Laboratory and the Institute's research groups. This activity contributed to strengthening professional exchanges, showcasing research capabilities, and opening up substantive cooperation opportunities between scientists from both sides.
