Living nature evolution showroom opens at the Vietnam National Museum of Nature

On May 15th, the Vietnam National Museum of Nature held a ceremony to open a living nature evolution showroom. The event marks the Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18), International Museum Day (May 12th) and the 39th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (May 20).

The event drew the participation of Prof. Dr. Sc. Nguyen Dinh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and Prof. Dr. Sc. Nguyen Khoa Son, former Vice Chairman of VAST; leaders and former leaders from the Vietnam National Museum of Nature; scientists, researchers, students and reporters also took part.

The showroom is situated on the first floor of the A20 building, the Vietnam National Museum of Nature under VAST at 18 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Hanoi. Covering an area of more than 300m2, the showroom exhibits thousands of different species, most of which were collected from all national regions by scientists. A small number of the samples were collected from foreign countries. The 3D map in the middle of the showroom represents the evolutionary process during time periods of the Earth reproduced by illustrated photos. The part on the living nature at its current stage is arranged according to subclass of flora, mainly in Vietnam.

Visitors to the showroom will be guided according to the history of life through periods, the history of human development and evolution, and maps of human migration from Africa to other continents in the world.
