Launching Ceremony of the 9th National STEM Festival – Vietnam Breaking Through

On May 30, 2023, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the launching ceremony of "The 9th National STEM Festival - Vietnam STEM Festival 2023" took place. Vietnam Space Center (VNSC), - Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, participates in the National STEM Festival 2023 as a companion with the desire to inspire and bring space science and technology stay closer to the community, especially the younger generations, to achieve the goal as this year's theme is "Vietnam, break through the heights".

The National STEM Festival (Vietnam STEM Festival, abbreviated as VSF) was first held in 2015 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology at the initiative of Tia Sang Magazine (formerly a publication of Science and Technology Newspaper). and Development under the Ministry of Science and Technology) and the STEM Alliance, under the direction of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Up to now, the National STEM Festival has been held periodically for 8 consecutive years.

National STEM Festival 2023 is directed and implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and jointly organized by the Youth Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Youth Union. Youth Ministry of Education and Training, Children's Committee, School Youth Committee under the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Center for Service and Technology Innovation, Hanoi University of Science and Technology with the companionship of agencies, organizations and businesses operating in the field of STEM.

In addition to the purpose of spreading, motivating and encouraging the passion for learning, scientific research, technology and creativity of Vietnamese students, the National STEM Festival 2023 also aims to enhance raising public awareness about the role of science, technology and innovation, promoting the application of science and technology to life; improve research capacity, enhance education skills, basic knowledge, creative thinking, and adaptability to the requirements of the 4th Industrial Revolution. This is also an opportunity for the Science & Technology managers in education and training, researchers, schools, teachers and students approach advanced teaching and learning methods, towards the comprehensive development of scientific knowledge. learning and skills, contributing to creating qualified human resources to approach the industrial revolution 4.0.

In 2023, the theme of the National STEM Festival is "Vietnam, breaking through the heights", including the following main activities: (1) National STEM competitions such as rocket shooting contest, robot competition; (2) STEM seminars and forums; (3) Exhibitions and exhibition spaces promoting STEM; (4) STEM experiential and challenging activities; and (5) Local STEM activities.
