International scientific seminar on erosion and materials protection

The international scientific seminar on erosion and materials protection took place at the Institute for Tropical Technology from December 4th to 7th 2012 to create favourable conditions for scientists and partners in industries to share knowledge and information related to erosion and materials protection.

The event drew the participation of Prof. Duong Ngoc Hai, vice president of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ninh Khac Ban, head of the Department of International Cooperation; Assoc. Prof, Dr. Thai Hoang, director of the Institute for Tropical Technology; and 100 domestic and foreign representatives.

Erosion and materials protection is an important scientific field which has drawn the much attraction from researchers and experts in Vietnam and foreign countries. Reports at the seminar focused on erosion and metal protection, degradation and stability of polymer and organic materials, protective covers, biodegradable polymers and environmentally friendly materials.

Also in the framework of the seminar, French experts presented lectures on Electrochemical Impedence Spectroscopy.

Being first held in Hanoi, the seminar drew the participation of domestic and international scientists, contributing to promoting exchange and scientific cooperation between the Institute and experts and colleagues from France, the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Thailand in fields related to erosion and materials protection.
