IAT and AgriS strategic cooperation to promote science - technology and innovation for smart, sustainable, circular agriculture

In order to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated 22 December 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, on 8 August 2025, at the AgriS Agro Day 2025 Agricultural Summit Conference held at the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the Institute of Advanced Technology (IAT) – under Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) – and Thanh Thanh Cong – Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company (AgriS) signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote research, development, and application of science – technology and innovation in the field of smart, sustainable, and circular agriculture.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by leaders of Tay Ninh Province, including: Nguyen Manh Hung – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Dai Thy – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Minh Lam – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; together with leaders of relevant departments, boards, and sectors. On the side of VAST were Chu Hoang Ha – Vice President of VAST, and leaders of the Institute of Advanced Technology, along with a number of leaders of units under VAST. On the side of AgriS were Dang Huynh Uc My – Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of AgriS, together with members of the Board of Directors and key leaders of the company.

AgriS is Viet Nam’s leading high-tech agricultural corporation. On its journey of strong transformation, the enterprise has not only expanded its scope of activities into many fields, but has also established a modern, multi-value, and sustainable agricultural ecosystem based on three strategic pillars: AgTech (Agricultural Technology) – FoodTech (Food Technology) – FinTech (Financial Technology). Over its 56 years of service, AgriS has always placed technology and sustainability at the centre of its growth strategy. At AgriS Agro Day 2025, this imprint was strongly affirmed through the introduction of the Project “Modernisation – Digitisation of Agriculture based on ESG and Datafication for the period 2025–2030” – a concrete and practical action plan aimed at building knowledge-based, transparent, and standardised agriculture at the national level.

Prior to this, the Institute of Advanced Technology visited production models, research centres, and new technology demonstration areas, thereby gaining deeper insights into the application potential of advanced science – technology in agricultural production practice. The parties discussed in detail upcoming cooperation projects, including: research and development of high-yield crop varieties; collection and analysis of soil and water data; development of technologies to enhance the value of by-products; environmental protection solutions; smart agriculture; as well as the application of biotechnology and automation in supply chain management.

The signing ceremony between AgriS and IAT marked an important step in connecting enterprises with the scientific community, creating a solid foundation for the development of modern, sustainable agriculture that is deeply integrated into the global value chain. Facing urgent global challenges, AgriS and IAT affirmed their vision for long-term cooperation, while calling for the participation of organisations and partners both domestically and internationally to jointly seek optimal solutions, preserve natural values, promote innovation, and build a green, smart, sustainable agricultural future with global competitiveness.
