Hanoi University of Science and Technology supports students in difficult circumstances who cannot return to their localities due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Due to the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hanoi, many students from remote provinces were not able to go home in time during social distancing. Since the beginning of August 2021, the University has reviewed the number of students with household registration in provinces outside Hanoi who meet difficulties and are unable to return to their hometowns because Hanoi implemented social distancing in the spirit of Directive 16 of the Prime Minister.
Representative of Student Affairs Department gives presents to students
The school has prepared gifts with necessities and cash worth VND1 million each to support 22 students who are renting houses in Hanoi. The gifts were sent by the staff of the Student Affairs Department of the University to the students in need of support.
Receiving a gift from the school, Nguyen Thi Ninh, a student majoring in Food Science and Technology, shared her feeling that the school's support gift helps her feel more secure during the social distancing period. “Besides, I also received phone calls of encouragement from teachers. I am very grateful to the school for being considerate, thoughtful and caring for students, especially when we are in difficulty, unable to reunite with our families due to the current distance."
Previously, USTH announced a 5% to 10% reduction in tuition fees for the second semester of the academic year 2020-2021 to contribute to sharing difficulties with students and families. The gifts have not only a material meaning but also a spiritual meaning, contributing to further encouraging students to stabilize their psychology and peace of mind to overcome difficulties during the pandemic season to be ready to enter the new school year.
