Graduation Ceremony of Bachelor of Aviation Faculty (class of 2018-2021) and Workshop on Training & Job Opportunities in Aviation Engineering

On March 12, 2022, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) solemnly held the Graduation Ceremony of Bachelor of Aviation Faculty (class of 2018-2021) and Workshop on Training & Job Opportunities in Aeronautical Engineering.

Attending the ceremony, were Mr. Nicolas Warnery, Ambassador of the Republic of France to Vietnam; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Chairman of the University Council of USTH; Ms. Hoang Tri Mai, General Director of Airbus Group in Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Deputy General Director, and Mr. Tran Chi Dung, Deputy Head of Human Resources Organization Department of Vietnam National Airlines (Vietnam Airlines); Mr. Dao Thien Phan, Deputy General Director, and Mr. Nguyen Ba Viet, Head of Education Department of Training Center of Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (VAECO); and Mr. Tran Minh Nghia, Deputy Director of Training Center of Tre Viet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Bamboo Airways). On the side of USTH, there were Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, Principal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh, Rector, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quang Minh, Vice Dean of Aviation Faculty, Dr. Doan Nhat Quang, Deputy Head of the Department of Training Management, along with staff, lecturers and researchers of the Faculty; especially the presence of new Bachelors with family and friends.

Opening the ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest congratulated the new Bachelors and praised their efforts during their study and training time at the University. On behalf of USTH, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest expressed his deepest thanks to the University's partners: “Without the support and commitment of leading partners such as Airbus, Vietnam Airlines and VAECO, we would not have been able to build our training program and conduct knowledge transfer to strengthen the activities of the Faculty of Aviation. This success is an example of building a university-enterprise partnership with the aim of training high-quality human resources to meet the needs of the labor market.”

USTH is one of the few universities that train and provide human resources for Aviation Engineering. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, President of the USTH School Council, noted: "The Bachelor of Aviation Engineering program at USTH is a modern program that combines Harmonious combination of theory, practice and practical practice; built on the basis of very close cooperation between the University and famous partners in the field of aviation such as Airbus, Vietnam Airlines, VAECO, IAS/ Bricks. The success of the program will help supplement and meet the demand for highly qualified technical human resources in the aviation engineering industry of Vietnam Airlines in particular and the Vietnamese aviation industry in general."

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Hoang Tri Mai, General Director of Airbus Group in Vietnam, affirmed: “Despite the challenges faced by the pandemic, the outlook for the aviation market and the aviation sector in Vietnam is still very promising.Vietnam has the full potential to support growth in all sectors of the industry; that's why Airbus decided to support USTH, working together to share experience, expertise and contribute to the education of a new generation of aviation professionals. The France-Vietnam strategic partnership has played an important role in the successful implementation of this program and will continue to be an advantage for the implementation of other programs in the future.”

Besides Airbus Group - an important partner in building and opening the Bachelor of Aviation Engineering program and the Master of International Air Transport Management program, Vietnam National Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) and Aircraft Engineering One Member Limited Liability Company (VAECO) are two domestic partners that have greatly contributed to the support and development of training programs at USTH's Faculty of Aviation: participates in the student selection process, teaches specialized subjects, accepts students for internships, and is also a potential employer of graduated Bachelor of Engineering and Master of International Air Transport Management.

Next, in the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Dr. Doan Nhat Quang, Deputy Head of Training Management Department, announced the Graduation Decision for the students of the Faculty of Aviation, class 2018-2021. “Over the years, many of our students have demonstrated their excellence in learning and research. To recognize and honor the efforts of the students, the University has decided to reward excellent and excellent graduates, in which students of the Faculty of Aviation accounted for 21%.”

Closing the ceremony, Hoang Nguyen Son, representing the new Bachelors of Aviation Engineering, shared their pride and gratitude because during their journey at USTH, they have become better versions, ready to face countless challenges to make their dreams come true. Hoang Nguyen Son sends his deepest gratitude to the Board of Directors and all the teachers and staff in the school, extremely dedicated educators, who have provided the children with a great environment to study, practice and develop.

The second part of the ceremony was "Training & Job Opportunities in Aeronautical Engineering" with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh, Rector of University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quang Minh, Vice Dean of Faculty of Aviation USTH, guests from IAS/Bricks, ENAC, Vietnam Airlines, VAECO, USTH and students studying Aeronautical Engineering at the school. The seminar introduced the Bachelor of Aviation Engineering and Master of International Air Transport Management training programs, and provided the opportunity for students to directly interact with speakers from the business block about internship and job opportunities in the industry.
