French inspection general delegation visits Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology

On March 20th, 2013, the French inspection general delegation led by Bernard Fitoussi, Administration Inspection General, paid a working visit to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).

The delegation was received by Prof. Nguyen Dinh Cong, VAST vice president, representing leaders from the Department of International Cooperation, the Department of Organization and Personnel and institutes under VAST.



The overview of the working session


Prof. Cong welcomed the delegation to the Academy. On behalf of VAST, Prof. Cong appreciated the traditional cooperation between Vietnamese and French scientists in general and scientists from VAST in particular. Cooperation has brought benefits as well developed cooperation between Vietnamese and French research agencies. He expressed his hope to promote cooperation in the field of scientific study and training. He hoped that thanks to the visit, cooperation between VAST and partners from the Republic of France would continue to be strengthened, creating new opportunity for Vietnamese and French scientists.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Bernard Fitoussi appreciated VAST’s warm welcome. He said the visit had an important event, opening a new cooperation period between France and other scientific partners in the world, especially Vietnam. During the reception, he said the French government chose Morocco, Argentina and Vietnam to promote the attractiveness of France in science and technology, aiming to attract talent from these countries.

The visit aimed to share ideas from VAST, propose solutions to organize exchange and cooperation programmes between the two countries, attracting talented scientists to France to study and conduct research.

At the working session, the two sides discussed the difficulties and advantages of the implementation of former cooperation activities and proposed cooperation orientations for the near future. The two sides agreed to strengthen training cooperation for young university and post-graduate scientists, as well as create conditions for VAST cadres who were trained in France to have opportunities to make contributions in relevant fields.

Concluding the working session, Mr. Cong thanked the delegation for its efforts toward scientific cooperation and selecting Vietnam as the only representative in Asia to promote scientific cooperation. He hoped that after the visit, the French partner will be provided useful information to further strengthen relations.
