First VNREDSat - 1 satellite photographs transmitted to Earth

13/05/2013
At 11 am on May 9th 2013, the VNREDSat-1  has successfully photographed the territory of Vietnam and instantly transferred images to ground receiving stations Vietnam, including Lung Cu in the northern mountainous of Ha Giang, Hanoi capital and the southern island of Phu Quoc.

Despite the inconvenience of cloudy weather over Vietnam’s territory, the first received photos show that the link between the ground system and operational satellites is initially quite good and stable. These are initial data for French and Vietnamese experts to analyse and access the effectiveness of the system’s activities. The experimental receiving and analysis will last three months.

With the technology characteristics of the satellite and orbit system, VNREDSat-1 is able to take photos of any position on the earth and repeat. To follow, analyse and continue sending photo taking plans to the satellite, the ground system can contact with the satellite from two to four times in day through Hoa Lac transceiver station. Experts will continue to make plans on taking photos about several areas in the world and in Vietnam for experimenting and accessing the system, especially adjusting the optical system.
