First Vietnam – US open seminar on solar energy transfer components and material
The seminar drew the participation of Vietnamese scientists and many international scientists from the US, Australia, Republic of Korea and Japan, led by Prof. Robert Chang, head of the National Science Foundation of the International Materials Institute (US) and general secretary of the International Materials Research Alliance. Many attendees were young scientists who represented companies that create equipment to analyse and survey material and components and produce thin-film solar cell components.

Participants heard reports about the most recent advances in creating and surveying materials and components for solar energy transfer in different forms, such as organic root, dye-photosynthesis and thin-film, presented by the field’s leading scientists and professors.
They also spent three hours during the seminar in group discussion to consider and promote international cooperation with Vietnam in the field of material research and solar energy transfer components. Three preliminary projects based on organic root solar battery, dye-photosynthesis and thin-film were proposed. This will be the foundation for all sides to exchange research information and results, training and cultivating young researchers and finding supporters to implement effective research programmes with Vietnam.
