Finished product from Cleome viscosa L. supports liver protection

The product HepaDetox (trade name EpaDex), researched and prepared from the extract of the Cleome viscosa L. combined with the extract of Cynara scolymus L. and Solanum procumbens L., has the effect of protecting and restoring liver damage, and has been successfully produced in pilot scale. This contributes to helping patients have more choices of suitable liver protection treatment and care products.

HepaDetox product is the result of the pilot production project "Test producing liver protection products from the Cleome viscosa L.", code UDSXTN.03/19-20 headed by Dr. Phan Nhat Minh, the Institute of Chemical Technology, and carried out from January 2019 to June 2021. It has been accepted and ranked as excellent.

The project has developed basic standards for raw materials, total extracts, semi-finished products and HepaDetox finished product; and perfected the process of full glue extraction, and refined semi-finished glue products with high efficiency, stability and safety.

In addition, the safety and liver protective efficacy of the product was evaluated with a dose of 3-4 capsules per day over 14 days and the stability of the product was determined to be 36 months.

The product has helped develop new and available sources of medicinal herbs in Vietnam with stable quality, making a positive contribution to community health care.

More than 143,000 capsules of HepaDetox product have been introduced to the market by Binh Phu Pharmaceutical Trading - Service Co., Ltd and received very good consumer feedback about quality and effectiveness.
