Female scientists at Institute of Natural Products Chemistry receive Kovalevskaia Prize 2020
The Kovalevskaia Award is held annually to honor female scientific collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in research and application of science in real life. Since 1985, Kovalevskaia Award has been awarded to female scientists from Vietnam. Up to now, 48 individuals and 19 collectives of outstanding female scientists, typical in the field of natural sciences, have been selected for the award.
In the field of research on bioactive substances of natural origin (plants, marine organisms, microorganisms) and application and deployment in real life, in the 2015-2020 period, the collective of female scientists from the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry has hosted projects at all levels, published 37 articles in the journals on the SCI list and 59 articles in the journals on the SCI-E list; and registered 8 patents and 15 useful solutions. In particular, many studies have been applied to create products with high practical applicability, products widely circulated in the market for public health care, such as Bioglucumin, Cordyceps, Heviho and essential oils.
In the field of environmental treatment, many projects implemented by female scientists have been applied in many localities across the country such as technologies to reduce greenhouse gases and adapt to climate change for Southeast Asian countries; research on a model to limit greenhouse gas emissions in coffee production in Dak Lak province; and assessing the risk of water environmental malnutrition in the Red River basin.

The collective of female scientists from the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry have received many awards in recent years, such as two products of Prof. Le Mai Huong won Gold and Silver prizes of the Korea Women's Invention Association 2018; Gold Award for Invention by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Le Minh Ha at the KIPO Korean Intellectual Property and Creative Women International Exhibition 2019; Honorary certificate for great contribution in the development of scientific research cooperation between Russia and Vietnam for Professor. Le Mai Huong; Certificate of Merit from the President of the Far East Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences to Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Ly; Certificate of Merit from Vietnam Women's Union for Professor. Le Mai Huong; Third Class Labor Medal for Prof. Le Mai Huong; and Prize B 2019 National Book Award for Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Lan Phuong.
