Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan pays working visit to Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology

During the implementation of the Government’s working plan on socio-economic development with an emphasis on science and technology to promote a knowledge-based economy in the new period, on July 12, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and a delegation from the Office of the Government, as well as representatives from ministries and sectors, visited and worked with VAST, a leading scientific and technological agency of the country.

On behalf of the VAST leader, Prof. Chau Van Minh, a Party Central Committee member and VAST President received the Deputy Prime Minister and delivered a report to him on VAST activities. He also informed the Deputy PM of the working plan in the near future, which aims to develop VAST and serve the national construction, fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Government.

During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan visited three VAST member institutes, including the Institute of Mathematics, the Institute of Biotechnology and the Institute of Geophysics.
