At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Tien Dung introduced to the SDGHI delegation a brief overview of VAST's functions, tasks, development strategies, organizational structure, human resources, as well as summarized some outstanding achievements in scientific research that VAST has achieved. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Tien Dung also expressed his hope that this meeting would be a premise to create more opportunities for cooperation in the future between the two sides on issues of mutual interest. Especially in the field of biotechnology, gene technology, material science technology and training.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Tan Hiang Khoon said SingHealth was established in 2000 under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Singapore. SingHealth is the largest public health organization in Singapore consisting of 09 general and specialty hospitals, primary health care centers and community hospitals across Singapore. SingHealth is also one of the prestigious biomedical science research centers in Asia and has international cooperation programs with many world-renowned universities. Over the years, SingHealth has had many cooperative relationships with ministries, sectors, research centers and institutes, universities and hospitals in Vietnam in the fields of research and training cooperation. Through the meeting, Assoc. Tan Hiang Khoon expressed his desire for the two sides to explore potential areas of cooperation in the future.
