Delegation of Laos Ministry of Science and Technology visits Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology

On August 23rd, a delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Prof. Dr. Boviengkham Vongdara, Minister of Science and Technology and president of the Lao National Academy of Science (LNAS), paid a working visit to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).

Prof. Chau Van Minh, president of VAST, leaders of functional departments and relevant agencies received the delegation.

At the working session, the two sides discussed science cooperation results between VAST and LNAS since signing cooperation agreements and exchanging several cooperation contents related to research to create Laos National Atlas maps of natural resources and natural changes on Lao’s territory; exchanging scientific publications; developing the application and transfer of science and technology products; training cadres and proposing potential cooperation fields in the future.

The working session was an opportunity for the two sides to review the science and technology cooperation situation, affirming the effort to promote traditional friendship and cooperation between the Party, State and people of the two countries in general and the two academies in particular. In the near future, the two sides will focus on completing the project strengthening the capacity of developing science and technology, building outstanding science programs of the two governments.
