Cooperation agreement on scientific research and technology transfer signed between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company

On July 10, 2017, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement on scientific research and technology transfer in Ca Mau City. Attending the signing ceremony, on the side of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, was Dr. Ha Quy Quynh, Head of the Department of Application and Development of Technology, and leaders of the Institute of Tropical Biology, Institute of Chemical Technology, Institute of Ho Chi Minh City Physics, and the Institute of Applied Materials Science. On behalf of the PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, Mr. Bui Minh Tien – Director General, and Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, Chairman of Board of Directors, together with leaders of departments and units of the company attended the signing ceremony. In addition, the signing ceremony was also witnessed by Prof. Dr. Sc. Ho Si Thoang, former Chairman of Board of Directors of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, and representatives of some local management agencies, including the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Under the agreement, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company agreed to cooperate in promoting research and development of technology, application and transfer of technology in the field of agriculture, especially new materials and technologies in the production of functional fertilizers and microbial products used in fertilizers for crops to serve agricultural production development and business.

The cooperative agreement aims to meet the requirements of development of the two sides in the new period. This is the basis for scientists of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company to carry out specific cooperative programs in order to apply the results of scientific and technological research into the company, especially the results in fertilizer and nutrients for plants. This cooperative model will bring about new success, new values, creating high-tech agricultural products, organic agriculture products and value chains for agricultural development in the Mekong Delta and across the country.

Mr. Bui Minh Tien said it was his pleasure and an honour for his company to cooperate with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, stressing the importance of research and development of products, especially in high technology agriculture and organic agriculture. The company always attaches great importance to the application of scientific and technological research results to provide best products for the market, bringing added value to the production activities of farmers. Mr. Tien said he believed that the cooperation agreement will facilitate both sides in making new values for products in the domestic and international markets, contributing to building sustainable agriculture.
