Overview of the Conference
The conference had the participation of more than 120 delegates from coastal local ministries, research institutes, universities and a number of businesses participating in the program.

The conference heard many presentations from scientists about the results of implementing the Program "Scientific and technological research for sustainable development of the marine economy" for the period 2015 - 2025, achievements and challenges in the field of marine science and technology haves also been discussed. In addition, the delegates stated the current status of Vietnam's sea and island management and proposed a number of solutions to enhance effective sea and island management in the coming time.

One of the issues that delegates actively participated in discussing was the orientation for the development of marine science and technology in the coming time, specifically new and key issues that need to be researched in the KC.09/21-30 Program, especially solutions to effectively implement the Program in the coming period, focusing on real issues related to sea and island management, economic development and serving the other activities at sea that have not been paid attention to by other programs and projects, important issues, need to be ordered to resolve the key issues that have been set out.

Through the Conference, the implementation of the Program will continue to be promoted, meeting the goal of effectively warning and forecasting natural disasters and marine environmental incidents, and responding to climate change in coastal areas. Vietnam's sea areas serve the sustainable development of the marine economy, and at the same time manage, investigate, exploit and effectively use marine resources in Vietnam's sea and coastal areas to sustainably develop the economic value chain.
