Conference announcing the Decision and congratulating Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh on joining the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and assuming the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations for the 2025–2030 term
Attending the conference on the side of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations were Comrade Nguyen Phi Long – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations; representatives of the Office of the Party Central Committee, the Central Inspection Commission, representatives of the Party Central Committee’s commissions, and representatives of the leadership of the Organization Commission of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations.
On the side of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) were Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the 11th, 12th and 13th terms, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of VAST; Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Standing Vice President of VAST; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui The Duy – Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of VAST; Comrade Le Sy Tung – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of VAST; Prof.Acad. Le Truong Giang – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of VAST; Prof. Dr. Tran Tuan Anh – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of VAST; Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of VAST; together with members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and representatives of the leadership of units under VAST.
On the side of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) were Prof. Acad. Dang Vu Minh – Honorary President of VUSTA; Comrade Phan Xuan Dung – Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, President of VUSTA; Comrade Pham Ngoc Linh – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of VUSTA; Comrade Pham Quang Thao – VUSTA; together with members of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee and members of the Inspection Commission of the Party Committee of VUSTA.
Presentation of the appointment decision to Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh
At the conference, Comrade Nguyen Phi Long, on behalf of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, presented the decision and delivered congratulatory remarks to Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh. Comrade Nguyen Phi Long expressed his confidence that, with more than 40 years of experience in the field of science and technology and more than 18 years in management, Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh will help the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations successfully fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and the State, thereby affirming the position of the Union as the common home of the intellectual community and contributing actively to the country’s socio-economic development in the new era.

In his remarks upon assuming the new responsibility, Prof.Acad. Chau Van Minh expressed his sincere gratitude for the trust of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and central agencies. Taking on the new position in an organization with specific functions and responsibilities, he affirmed his commitment to working together with the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations to uphold the tradition of unity and to build a clean and strong Party organization. Prof.Acad. Chau Van Minh also conveyed his profound gratitude to the leadership and staff of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology - where he has been closely associated and has received valuable support over the years. He expressed his hope to continue receiving close guidance from the higher-level Party Committee and the support of all members in order to successfully accomplish the set objectives.
Prof.Acad. Chau Van Minh affirmed that he will make every effort, together with the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, to uphold the tradition of solidarity, build a clean and strong Party organization, and strive to successfully fulfill all assigned tasks
On behalf of the leadership of VAST, Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai extended his congratulations to Prof.Acad. Chau Van Minh. Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai emphasized that the trust placed by the Party and the State in assigning Prof.Acad. Chau Van Minh the responsibility of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations is a source of pride for the staff of VAST. According to Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai, with the stature of a leading scientist and extensive management experience, Prof.Acad. Chau Van Minh represents a “valuable leadership resource” who will help the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations reach new heights. He expressed his confidence that this transition will create strong breakthroughs for the scientific and technical community of Vietnam in the era of innovation.
