Center for Information Infrastructure Development - VAST installs Intelligent Museum Guide system for President Ho Chi Minh Vestiges Area at Presidential Palace

During a meeting at the beginning of the Year of the Cat, the VAST President and the Management Board of the Vestiges Area discussed many cooperation projects, including building a Intelligent Museum Guide System for the President Ho Chi Minh Vestiges Area at the Presidential Place assigned to the Informatics Centre.

On March 2 2011, with the consent of the VAST President, a survey delegation of the Center for Information Infrastructure Development led by Prof. Pham Hong Quang, director of the centre, worked with the Management of the President Ho Chi Minh Vestiges Area. The two sides agreed on the implementation of a project on designing, building and installing a recorded information guide system for visitors.

According to the Management Board of the Vestiges Areas, the system is a model applied in tourist areas in many countries in the world, including Southeast Asian countries. This cooperative product between the Informatics Centre, VAST and the Management Board of the Vestiges Area will be the first electronic system installed in a national relic area in Vietnam.

With existing technology, the intelligent system can meet the number of visitors to Ho Chi Minh Vestiges Area at present - about 2000 to 3000 international visitors and 1000 Vietnamese.

The successful implementation of the system will bring the potential for applying the intelligent equipment in many visitor areas, cultural and historical relics areas, contributing to reducing cost and improving the effectiveness and quality of service of the Vietnamese tourism sector.
