Bulgarian Ambassador visits VAST

On June 16th, Evgueni Stoytchev, Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam, visited and worked with Prof. Dr. Chau Van Minh, president of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).

The reception also drew the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ninh Khac Ban, head of the Department of International Cooperation.

At the reception, the two sides expressed pleasure amidst a relationship demonstrating cooperation on multiple fronts, a traditional friendship between the two countries and in particular the special relationship between the Bulgaria Academy and VAST.

On the occasion of an official visit in October 2013, the Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev stood witness with the State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Truong Tang Sang, to the academies signing an MOU on cooperation.

At the reception, Prof. Minh gave a short presentation on functions, tasks, the potential of science and technology and the achievements and international cooperation activities of VAST. He also expressed the desire of establishing a longer-term cooperation based on the demand and interest of either side.

Bulgarian Ambassador, Evgueni Stoytchev, emphasized the importance of science in all aspects of development. He also expressed his pleasure with the success of the scientific cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria, especially in the field of training and cadre exchanges.


Concluding the working session, Prof. Minh said that VAST will continue to consolidate and promote relations with Bulgaria in science and technology, contributing to strengthening the mutual understanding between the two nations and promoting effective cooperation between the two countries in every field. As scheduled, Prof. Minh will pay a working visit to Bulgaria from June 25 to 28, 2014 to discuss signed agreements between the two sides.
