Announcement of the politburo’s decisions on organisational structure and personnel for the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology

At the conference, comrade Hoang Trung Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organisation, announced the Politburo’s decisions issued on March 30, 2026 regarding the functions, tasks, powers, organisational structure and working relationships of five government-affiliated agencies, including the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, following their transition into public non-business units under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The Politburo also issued a decision to assign and appoint comrade Tran Hong Thai, Member of the Party Central Committee, as President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, concurrently holding the position of Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, and participating in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Central Party Agencies for the 2025–2030 term.
