Activities to raise awareness and skills for Intellectual Property registration for young staff in Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology

Overview of the conference

Attending the Conference were Mr. Pham Tuan Huy, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Mr. Le Huy Anh - Deputy Director, Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Patent Evaluation Center, National Office of Intellectual Property; Ms. Tran Thu Ha, Deputy Director of the Patent Examination Center; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khoi - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Committee of the Youth Union of Central Agencies; Mr. Tran Xuan Bach - Member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Representatives of functional departments and a number of research units under the Academy have achieved many results in intellectual property registration.

On the side of the Academy Delegation were comrade Phan Ke Son, Member of the Executive Committee of the Central Agencies Union, Secretary of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology Youth Union; they are members of the Executive Committee, members of the Inspection Committee, comrades who are Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries of Youth Union facilities under the Youth Union, and more than 250 union members, youth, and young scientists directly attended the Conference.

Intellectual property serves as a key goal for the development of research institutes, and is a solid foundation for the country's sustainable economic growth, especially in the context of the industrial revolution. The 4th career is taking place. With its international publication achievements remaining at a high level and continuing to be the leading unit in the country, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology aims to improve the quality of international publications and promote intellectual property work in the entire Institute aims to apply research results effectively in practice.

This conference is a forum to connect, learn and share experiences in union activities as well as professional activities of ministries and branches under the Union of Central Agencies, gradually creating common union activities according to clusters, devising creative ways to operate the Youth Union to successfully implement the Resolution of the Youth Union Congress at all levels, term 2022-2027.

This is also one of the key activities of the Youth Union of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in 2023, to improve the professional capacity of union members, young people and young researchers in the Institute, as well as to make it easier to Convert and apply in parallel from writing and international publication to registering for protection of patents/utility solutions of the international publications. From there, be more aware of your position, role and responsibilities in implementation, especially the role of the Youth Union in participating in and effectively implementing union activities associated with its responsibilities professional services of each agency or unit.

At the conference, delegates were informed about 4 main topics with many important issues such as: Status of Intellectual Property registration at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Tien Dung, Head of the Department of Application and Technology Deployment, presented by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology); Search patents using free patent databases; Writing an invention description: Points to note (presented by Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Deputy Head of Medicine and Pharmacy Department, Patent Evaluation Center, National Office of Intellectual Property); Discuss how to handle the document intending to refuse the content, clarifying the new and creative points of the invention (Mr. Trinh Ngoc Long, Patent Examiner of Mechanical Department, Patent Appraisal Center, National Office of Intellectual Property).

Presentation on topic at the conference

The topics synthesize the in-depth knowledge, skills, and practical experiences of Intellectual Property experts, partly helping participating delegates better understand the issue of Intellectual Property and have a new more intuitive perspective, thereby raising awareness and importance of the Intellectual Property conference. In addition to sharing professional knowledge, delegates also have the opportunity to discuss and ask questions with experts and speakers to get their concerns answered.
