60th anniversary of Vietnam Journal of Chemistry (1962-2022)
The event drew the participation of representatives from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (Academy), representatives of Natural Science and Technology Publishing House (Publishing House), Scientific journals of the Academy and several scientists in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr of Sci. Tran Van Sung, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Journal of Chemistry, said that during the process of building and growing, Vietnam Journal of Chemistry (VJC) has always received enthusiastic support from domestic and foreign scientists, and international organizations, experts in the field of chemistry and related fields, as well as the support and help of the Academy, the Publishing House, the comments of readers, contributed to the success of the present Journal.
Since the first issue in 1962 with 32 pages/issue and 4 issues/year in Vietnamese, in print, VJC has published in English with 132 pages/issue and 6 issues/year, both in print and online. The published works have the content and form of international standards. The journal has a beautiful website, using international standard editorial management software (ScholarOne Manuscripts).
In 2018, the Journal signed a publishing cooperation agreement with Wiley-VCH Publishing House (Germany), and is officially named on Wiley's platform and introduced to more than 700 institutions, institutes and universities in Europe and America. With a rigorous review process, professional production organization, change of cover structure and table of contents with images to attract readers, the quality and appearance of VJC increased rapidly. Therefore, in 2020 the Journal is indexed in the Web of Science system, and in 2021 it is officially listed on the Scopus system. From the above results, in 2022, the Journal has Hindex = 0.4, CiteScore 0.5 and Q4 (https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21101043786).
In order to continue to improve the quality, appearance, increase views, article downloads and citations, from 2022, the Journal has officially used the form of Early view for completed manuscripts of reviewing, editing, checking of the duplication level. Hopefully in the near future, the Journal will have the expected citation index and soon become a journal in the SCIE list.
