24 students and postgraduates from units under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology receive Vallet Scholarships in 2026

Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha speaks at the ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha expressed his appreciation for and high regard for the sustained contributions made by Prof. Odon Vallet, Prof. Tran Thanh Van, Prof. Le Kim Ngoc and the “Rencontres du Vietnam” Science and Education Organisation to education, science and the young generation of Vietnam. For more than a quarter of a century, the Vallet Scholarship has supported generations of Vietnamese pupils, students and young researchers. To date, the programme has awarded nearly 55,000 scholarships worth more than 600 billion VND in total.
According to Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, the value of the scholarship lies not only in material support but also in the trust and encouragement given to young people who choose the path of education and scientific research. Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha conveyed a message to the scholarship recipients about the responsibility of knowledge towards the country's future. As science, technology and innovation are increasingly becoming important drivers of development, the younger generation needs to continually learn, master knowledge, dare to innovate and create new values.
In 2026, the Vallet Scholarship programme will award more than 2,150 scholarships nationwide, with a total value of approximately 45 billion VND. In northern Vietnam, 624 scholarships will be awarded, including 457 for high school students and 167 for university and postgraduate students. Each scholarship for university and postgraduate students this year is worth 34 million VND.
Of the 167 university and postgraduate students receiving scholarships in northern Vietnam this year, there are 126 university students, 28 master's students and 13 PhD candidates. Notably, 24 students from the two units under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology received scholarships, including 21 students from USTH and three master's students and PhD candidates from the Graduate University of Science and Technology.
The receipt of the 2026 Vallet Scholarships by 24 students, master's students and PhD candidates from USTH and the Graduate University of Science and Technology recognises their efforts and achievements, while also demonstrating the results of human resource training in science and technology at units under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. This also serves as encouragement for students, master's students and PhD candidates to continue their studies, research and innovation and contribute to the development of science, technology and innovation in the country.
