13th National Party Congress wraps up successfully
The 13th National Party Congress opened on January 26 at the Vietnam National Convention Center, Hanoi. Lasting until February 2, the Congress put forth assessments of the implementation outcomes of the 12th National Party Congress’ resolution, looked back over the 35 years of “Doi moi” (Renewal) policy; discussed and adopted the political report of the Party Central Committee term XII and report on the National Socio-economic Development Strategy 2011-2020, the development of the National Socio-economic Development Strategy 2021-2030; assessed the results of the implementation of socio-economic development 2016-2020 and orientation for socio-economic development 2021-2025; reviewed the leadership of the Party Central Committee term XII; reviewed the Party building and implementation of Party Charter term XIII; and an important task of the Congress being the election of the Party Central Committee term XIII.
On the afternoon of January 30, 2021, the 13th National Party Congress held a working session at the hall, listened to the Vote Committee reporting the election results, announcing the list of the Party Central Committee term XIII, which consists of 180 official members and 20 alternate members. Comrade Chau Van Minh, Party Central Committee term XII member, VAST Party Committee Secretary and VAST President, was re-elected to the Party Central Committee term XIII.
