Main results | - Theoretical results: + Together with Component 1, a geochemical baseline data set was established for 5 types of samples: topsoil, subsoil, stream sediment, streamwater, and groundwater with analyses such as major and trace elements, pH, Ec, TDS, anions, cations, TC, OC,…. This study provides basic geochemical data for many filelds as geology, agriculture, mineral exploration, environment, human health,… + Among the statistical methods, mMAD followed by TIF, Q95, Q98 were found to be suitable for identifying anomalous sites, while mMAD is considered as most appropriate to estimate the geochemical baseline value of the study areas. + PCA and cluster analysis help identify dominant geochemical types in different regions. These are the main methods in multivariate data analysis. Specifically, some element associations identified as REE-Th-U, Cu-Mo, Fe-Ti-V-Cr-Co-Ni. These elemental associations are closely related to bedrock as alkaline and sub-alkaline rocks, metamorphic rocks, metamorphic sediments,…. and related to ore deposits. + Establishing a set of single-element and multi-element maps for three provinces of Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang as well as the key area of Bat Xat district, Lao Cai. + In addition to factors such as terrain, geomorphology, climate, weather, the elemental content of the samples is strongly influenced by the lithology in the study area. + The Component’s database is demonstrated through publications and suggestions, proposing directions for using multi-purpose geochemical baseline in improving and enhancing the efficiency of agricultural land, supporting land use planning, studying carbon storage in soil, assessing water quality, discovering mineral resources, studying weathering and paleoclimate processes, assessing the impact of elements on human health, and applying research on the causes of landslides, land subsidence,… - Applied results: The systematically established multi-purpose geochemical baseline can be used for: (i) Assessing the current state of the environment; (ii) searching for minerals, especially deep-seated minerals; (iii) agriculture and forestry; (iv) medical geology; (v) determining the geochemical baseline as a legal basis for environmental risk assessment,… |
