Goal and objectives of the project
Study some problems in singularity theory, hyperplane arrangements and low dimensional topology; advising several master and PhD students in the related fields.

 

Main results

Research:
- Give a formula for the Milnor number of the singularity of complex analytic mappings in terms of the mixed volume of the Newton polytopes of the component functions.

- Describe the motivic Milnor fiber of the rational functions, state a formula for the monodromy zeta functions in terms of the resolution of the singularity.

Training: The project partly contributes to the study of one master student and one PhD student. One master thesis was successfully defended. Young reasearchers from the Institute of Mathematics and from Japan have opportunity to collaborate, discuss and give talks in the conference held in the framework of the project. 


Cooperation: New collaboration between young mathematicians from the Institute of Mathematics, VAST and from Japan has been setting up. There are more Japanese mathematicians visiting Vietnam when the project complete.

There are new results to be published in 02 journals of high ranking.
