Project's information

Project's title Component No.3 - Profiling of common toxic substances (Pb, As, Hg, Pesticides...) in some marine foods
Project’s code TĐĐTB0.03/21-23
Research hosting institution Center for High Technology Development
Project leader’s name Dr. Vu Duc Nam
Project duration 01/01/2021 - 31/12/2023
Project’s budget 6,000 million VND
Classify Grade B
Goal and objectives of the project
- Develop procedures to analyze the chemical components of several common toxic substances (As, Pb, Hg...) in organic and inorganic forms and some other toxic organic compounds (pesticides,... .) in sea foods (fish, shrimp and other common seafood)
- Identify the correlation between chemical components (metals, metal speciation, and other toxins) that affect the quality and safety of marine food.
- Develop a VILAS profile set to enhance the laboratory's analytical capacity
Main results
- Theoretical results:
+ Successfully developed 17 analytical procedures of common toxic substances in marine foods, including 09 analytical procedures of metals and metal speciation (inorganic and organic) and 08 analytical procedures of other toxic organic substances in marine foods.
+ Obtained composition profiles of the toxic compounds (As, Pb, Hg, Se and their speciation; OPPs, OCPs, PAHs, PBDEs) in some marine foods (marine fish species)
Products of the project

- Scientific papers in referred journals (list):

- Technological products (describe in details: technical characteristics, place):

- Other products (if applicable):
+ Training: Assist in training 02 Masters (majors of Water – Environment – Oceanography and Analytical Chemistry) and 01 Bachelor (major of Chemistry)
Recommendations

It is necessary to further research, develop and apply the sets of analytical procedures on the toxins (heavy metals, metal speciation and other organic toxins...) in other kinds of food.
