Clarifying Hololocene sedimentary facies and establishing evolutionary stages in the history of formation and development of the Ma River.

- Theoretical results:Elucidate the distribution and evolutuionary history Holoccene sedimentary formations in the Song Ma Delta.
- Applied results: The research results are the scientific basis to identify and study natural disasters such as coastal erosion, risk of flooding due to sea level rise, salt water intrusion etc, planning orientation and exploiting the advantages of coastal areas.

- 12 geomorphic units are establlished by wave, tide and river dynamics.
- 23 sedimentary facies (Holocene) were established in four facies associations: incised-valley fills, esturies, deltas, and alluvi facies.
- Holocene sea level fluctuations and sediment evolution in Thanh Hoa coastal area are elucidated by the results of sediment facies analysis comnined with 14C absolute ages in the boreholes.

The results of the project can be transferred to Thanh Hoa Provincia People's Committee, specialized Ministries and Departments for application in the exploitation the Ma River Delta for socio-economic development.
