Goal and objectives of the project

Overall objectives: Completing the technological process of extracting Bacopa monnieri and Ocimum sanctum; preparation of products to support memory enhancement and trial production of the product.
Detailed objectives:
+ Completing the technological process of extracting Bacopa monnieri and Ocimum sanctum on a scale of 100 kg of raw materials/batch
+ Manufacturing the product to support memory enhancement and evaluate the safety and effects of the product
+ Trial production of 200,000 tablets of the product and establishing a basic standard for the product, building legal documents for product registration and announcement

 

Main results
- Theoretical results:
The project has established input standards for the medicinal herbs Bacopa monnieri and Ocimum sanctum
The project has extracted and determined the structure of the main compounds Bacoside A3 from Bacopa monnieri and ursolic acid from Ocimum sanctum as standards and also built an HPLC quantitative method using these two standards to evaluate the quality of the extracts of Bacopa monnieri and Ocimum sanctum.
The project has completed and optimized the process of extracting Bacopa monnieri and Ocimum sanctum on a scale of 100 kg of dry materials /batch with stable quality and performance, suitable for large-scale production. The production efficiency of Bacopa monnieri reaches an average of 19.61% compared to the dry medicinal sample weight (Total bacoside content in Bacopa monnieri extract is about 10.77%). The production efficiency of Ocimum sanctum reaches an average of 10.63% compared to the dry medicinal sample weight (The ursolic acid content in Ocimum sanctum extract is about 0.16%).
The project has researched and produced a formula for LOHHA Tri Nao NEW memory-enhancing hard capsules that help enhance memory, including Bacopa monnieri extract, Ocimum sanctum extract, along with Cratoxylum maingayi, lemon balm, ginkgo extracts and some other excipients.
The project evaluated the acute and semi-chronic toxicity and evaluated the memory-enhancing effect of LOHHA Tri Nao NEW hard capsules in vitro and in vivo. The results prove that the product is safe, does not cause acute toxicity with the test dose of 10,000 mg/kgP, does not cause semi-chronic toxicity with the test dose of 150mg/kgP/day and 450mg/kgP/day. The product has shown the effect of supporting memory enhancement using open field test and y maze test, simultaneously inhibiting the activity of AChE with IC50 value of 89.15 µg/mL.
The project has established base standards for Bacopa monnieri extract, Ocimum sanctum extract and the memory-enhancing hard capsule product LOHHA Tri Nao NEW.
The project has published 01 scientific article in a domestic magazine, 02 useful solutions (accepted).
- Applied results:
The project has conducted trial production of extracts of Bacopa monnieri, Ocimum sanctum and some other medicinal herbs (Cratoxylum maingayi, lemon balm) on a scale of 100kg of dry materials/batch and 200,000 LOHHA Tri Nao NEW memory-enhancing hard capsules on the production equipment line of Thai Minh High Technology Joint Stock Company 
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

The combination of medicinal herbs including Bacopa monnieri, Ocimum sanctum and other ingredients in LOHHA TRÍ NÃO NEW product is a new point in science and technology, making the product more effective in supporting to treat memory loss. The results on chemistry and pharmacological effects of the product are new, providing scientific evidence proving the product's effectiveness.
