Goal and objectives of the project - Developing routine testing procedures for pH buffering capacity and lime requirement of haplic Acrisols;
- Assessing factors influencing pH buffering capacity and lime requirement of haplic Acrisols;
- Proposing measures to improve the effectiveness of liming for cassava cultivation on haplic Acrisols.
Main results
- Theoretical results:
+ Developed a routine testing procedure for lime requirement of haplic Acrisols;
+ Clarified the physical, chemical characteristics, pH buffering capacity and lime requirement, and the relationships between these in haplic Acrisols in Tay Ninh province;
+ Assessed the possibility of liming to remediate the acidity of haplic Acrisols in Tay Ninh province.
- Applied results:
+ Proposed measures to improve the effectiveness of liming for cassava cultivation on haplic Acrisols in Tay Ninh province.
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- Providing scientific and practical basis for liming to remediate the acidity of haplic Acrisols;
- The new lime requirement procedure helps determine lime requirement accurately, save time and cost, and thereby improving the effectiveness of liming;
- Measures to improve the effectiveness of liming for the remediation of acidity of haplic Acrisols.
