Goal and objectives of the project
To complete the process oil removal product by using biofilm forming bacteria on husk biochar.
Main results
- Technological results: The project has completed process oil removal product by using biofilm forming bacteria on husk biochar
- Theoretical results: Four biofilm forming bacteria which were not resisted each other and had high oil degradation capacity were selected. The temperature (40oC) and moisture (40%) to ferment oil removal product were estimated. The product was solid and the density of bacteria was > 109 CFU/g. The product could degrade >90 % aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon after 7 day-experiment.
- Applied results: A 50 – liter laboratory module was created to examine the obtained product. As the result, the product conducted in the module was demonstrated its ability to remove >90 % hydrocarbon components after 7 day – incubation.
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

The obtained results of this project showed that the solid oil removal product by using biofilm forming bacteria on husk biochar was completed. The product had microbe density at > 108 (CFU/g) and could degrade >90 % aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon components containing in crude oil. The innovation of the product was the combine of physical, chemical and biological approaches in one product. Therefore, the effieciency was higher than older product and did not lead to secondary contamination. Moreover, the product could apply in both solid and liquid conditions.
