Research hosting institution | Institute of Genome Research |
Project leader’s name | Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc |
Project duration | 01/06/2021 - 30/06/2023 |
Project’s budget | 500 million VND |
Classify | Grade A |
Goal and objectives of the project | Investigate and assess the current status of habitat and population size of 2 species of Dipterocarpus (Dipterocarpus turbinatus) and Dipterocarpus condorensis.
Sequencing the transcriptional genome of Dau luong species by the new generation sequencing method on the Illumina Next-Seq system and designing EST-SSrs primer pairs for species of the genus Dau, distributed in Vietnam.
Evaluation of genetic diversity, population genetic structure and development history of populations of the 2 studied oil species at the survey sites based on the transcriptional genome sequences of the Lucerne species and the primer pairs ETS- SSRs are designed. |
Main results | - Theoretical results:
The natural conditions at the distribution area and the morphological characteristics and number of individuals of each population of the two species of Shiny Leaf Oil and Sand Oil in the survey areas have been determined.
Analyzed and built library data for the transcriptomic gene sequence for the species Dipterocarpus using new generation sequencing (NGS) technology.
30 pairs of potential EST-SSRs molecular biology primers have been discovered and successfully tested for cloning suitable EST-SSRs primer pairs in analyzing genetic diversity for some species of Dipterocarpus in Vietnam.
The level of genetic diversity and genetic structure of both Dau species in the study has been determined, with a low level of genetic difference appearing for pairs of populations distributed in the same area and high in pairs of populations. may not be in the same distribution area. Each species forms 3 different gene groups and each group usually occurs in a study area.
- Applied results: The topic contributes to promoting the application of genome sequencing technology in the conservation of genetic resources of threatened species, improving understanding of genetic diversity within and between populations and understanding The genetic structure, developmental history, and molecular evolvability of populations are relevant to human activities. |
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results | Genomes and primer sets of EST-SSRs in the study of genetic diversity of some species of Diuaceae in Vietnam. |
