Goal and objectives of the project

- Determining the formation mechanism and distribution of the Estuarine Turbidity Maxima (the Maxima concentration of suspended sediment) in the Mekong River.
- Determining dynamic controls governing the transport of concentration of suspended sediment on shallow clinoform Mekong delta

Main results

- Theoretical results: Determining the formation mechanism and distribution of the Estuarine Turbidity Maxima (the Maxima concentration of suspended sediment) and dynamic controls governing the transport of concentration of suspended sediment on shallow clinoform Mekong delta .
- Applied results: The results of the project will be applied in the prevention of erosion - accretion, stabilization of banks and estuaries for navigation, environmental protection and sustainable marine economic development in the climate change.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- Determining the formation mechanism and distribution of the Estuarine Turbidity Maxima and dynamic controls governing the transport of concentration of suspended sediment on shallow clinoform in the study area .
- Proposing plans to prevent erosion - accretion, stabilizing beaches and estuaries in service of navigation, environmental protection and sustainable marine economic development..
