Goal and objectives of the project | Fabrication of the easy recyclable titanate perovskite-based catalysts with high activity and stability, in photodegrading persistent organic pollutants in wastewater from agricultural production, typically glyphosate herbicide and cinnamic acid. |
Main results | The main results include the following:
+ 03 titanate perovskites with fully analyzed physicochemical properties and surveyed activity in the photodegradation of cinnamic acid.
+ 03 modified titanate perovskites with fully analyzed physicochemical properties and surveyed activity in the photodegradation of cinnamic acid.
+ Results of the oxidizing agent effect (ozone and H2O2) in the photodegradation of cinnamic acid on four best catalysts.
+ Results of stability, recovery, and recycling investigation on the four best catalysts in the cinnamic acid photodegradation under suitable conditions corresponding to each applicable operating parameter.
+ The results of oxidizing agent (air, ozone, and H2O2) effect examination in photodegradation of glyphosate on 04 outstanding catalysts.
Scientific meaning: The research has found a new recoverable perovskite-based catalytic system with low band gap energy and the ability to absorb visible light. Besides, the combination of TiO2 and mixed metal oxide as a potential photocatalyst has enhanced the visible light absorption ability, improved the specific surface area, and limited the electron-hole recombination.
Practical application: Research results based on suitable conditions for synthesized perovskite-based catalysts with high activity and easy recovery. The obtained photodegradation reaction conditions for typical persistent organic pollutants in agricultural production, including cinnamic acid and glyphosate, are the basis for orientation of the future application. |
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results | - Proposing a synthesis process of photocatalysts based on Al2TiO5, Fe2TiO5, and NiTiO3 perovskite by sol-gel method with low calcination temperature. |
