|Goal and objectives of the project
- To synthesize nanostructured material from metal-organic frameworks (MOF);
- To determine physical and chemical properties of the synthesized materials via XRDd, BET, TEM, XPS;
- To investigate the materials for conversion of biomass into high-value chemicals.
- Theoretical results:
|Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results
Thi study reported the modification of UiO-66 with a inexpensive reagent and mild reaction conditions, thus the struture of the material still remained. The midificated material (P-UiO-66) has strong acidity, compared to the UiO-66 precusor. Additionally, the P-UiO-66 was demonstrated as an active solid catalyst for glucose conversion to HMF.
The work discovered the metal oxide catalyst (Co3O4-C) for hydrogenation of furfural (FA) into THFAL. This is the first time that metal oxide catalyst has been used as heterogeneous catalyst for hydorgenation of FA to THFAL.
The results contribute to the development the heterogeneous catalysts for biomass conversion in the future.
