Goal and objectives of the project - Fabrication of SiO2 nanoparticles from rice husk ash, then organically modified.
- Fabrication of UV curing coating based on acrylate resin and modified SiO2 nanoparticles from rice husk ash.
Main results

- Theoretical results:
+ This study has proposed a method to make SiO2 nanoparticles from rice husk ash, then modify them with organic silane compounds to increase the compatibility of SiO2 nanoparticles in UV-cured epoxy acrylate resin. The UV curing process will simultaneously form a chemical bond between the SiO2 nanoparticles and the epoxy acrylate resins, increasing the compatibility between the components.
+ Research results on surface modification by organic silane compounds and the characteristics of SiO2 nanoparticles from rice husk ash, SiO2 nanoparticle dispersion and the structural morphology of the coating.
+ Research results of studying the influence of SiO2 nanoparticles on the curing reaction of UV-cured coatings by IR spectroscopy and investigating the change in gel fraction, swelling and relative hardness of the coating.
+ Research results on the influence of SiO2 nanoparticles on the mechanical properties of the coating.
+ Research results on the influence of SiO2 nanoparticles on the water resistance of the coating.
- Applied results:
This study has proposed a method to make SiO2 nanoparticles from rice husk ash, then modify them with organic silane compounds and applied to make UV curing coatings based on acrylate resins.
