Goal and objectives of the project
Research, design and manufacture upper limb exoskeleton for perceiving reality
Main results
- Theoretical results: General research on Exoskeleton robot, built model of exoskelton with three degree of freedom. Kinematic analysis, Dynamic control for three degree of freedom system exoskeleton robot, control schemes for exoskeleton robot. Results are reported in international conference and journal [3, 5]. For testing, the three degree of freedom system is developed as an elbow exoskeleton. The model uses a loadcell and a processor to control a motor. The processor will control the motor to control the force feedback to interact with human operator.
- Applied results: Medical Robotics, Virtual reality, Entertainment, Training
Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results
The project has analysed and simulated the operation of three degree of freedom system exoskeleton using special software. The project has developed and tested an elbow exoskelton robot using force feedback for perceiving reality. The elbow exoskeleton robot can be used in the rehabilitation for the muscle of human arm.
Products of the project

- Scientific papers in referred journals (list): 02 Papers ISI, 01 paper international conference, 01 paper international journal, 01 paper VAST 02.
- Patents (list): Intellectual Patent (IP) (Acceptance letter)
- Technological products (describe in details: technical characteristics, place): 01 exoskeleton robot model, placed in room 224, Institute of Mechanics, VAST.
The exoskeleton is made of aluminium. It has two links: upper link (l2) and lower link (l3), and an elbow joint. The length of links are: l2 = 0.1749 (m) and l3 = 0.1915 (m). The masses of links are 0.5 (kg) và 0.25 (kg).
