- Clarifying the Holocene sedimentary evolution of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon coastal river delta.
- Clarifying coastline changes of the Vu Gia – Thu Bon river delta in the past 30 years and predicting trend of their variations.

Theoretical results:
- Determining the Holocene sedimentary evolution of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon coastal river delta. Coastline changes over the past 30 years, especially strong erosion trend continues taking place on the shore sections combined of unconsolidated sediments such as Cua Dai, Duy Hai commune and the south of Cua Lo.
- Proposing solutions to limit erosion of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river delta coastline. It is necessary to combine harmoniously between construction and non- construction solutions to minimize damages. The construction of offshore breakwaters and artificial beach nourishment should be considered suitable to protect the northern coast of Cua Dai. In Cua Lo area, building a system of offshore breakwaters, parallel to the southern shoreline of Cua Lo.
- Establishing a morpho-sedimentary map of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon coastal river delta and sedimentary geological cross-sections at the scale of 1:100.000. Map of coastline changes in the last 30 years at 1:50.000 scale.
Applied results: The project's products contribute to provide a scientific basis for planning, exploitation and use of natural resources for localities in the research area.
