| Main results | - The determination method of the physicochemical criteria and cultivation water has been improved in accordance with the laboratory's capacity, with high accuracy and reliability. By these developed methods, the study analyzed and constructed a data set on physicochemical properties of the cultivated soil and water in Muong Vi, Lao Cai. - A method of sample treatment and optimization of ICP-MS operating conditions has been developed to determine the metal content in the research subjects: rice, soil, and arable water. The data was conducted to evaluate the authenticity of Seng Cu rice and the constructed model has a high discriminant ability (AUROC = 0.968). Besides, the study has also improved and evaluated the using quality of method for direct determination of intact arsenic in rice (As (III), As(V), DMA and MMA). The results proved that Seng Cu rice has a lower total and intact arsenic content than other available types of commercial rice. In addition, a correlation between metal content in the rice and the cultivable system has been reported. This is the feature that makes it possible to build a geographical indication for Seng Cu rice in Muong Vi. (AUROC = 0.9983). - A determination method for the isotope ratio of Sr and Pb has been developed. From the data obtained, the study has constructed a model to determine the authenticity of Seng Cu rice with an AUROC = 0.9966 - A characterization method of the scent of Seng Cu rice has been developed. By using the PLS-DA method, the study has developed a model to determine the characteristics of Seng Cu rice with high accuracy (AUROC = 1.0) - A method has been developed to determine the metabolomics of Seng Cu rice. By using the sPLS-DA method, the study has built a model to determine the characteristics of Seng Cu rice with high accuracy (positive ionization mode has AUROC = 1.0, negative ionization mode has AUROC= 1.0) - The methods of determining the quality assessment criteria of fertilizers have been improved. The improved results match the capabilities of many laboratories today. By developed methods, the study evaluated the quality of fertilizers used in the studied area. Therefore, a profile of the use and control of fertilizers on the quality of Seng Cu rice in Muong Khuong can be developed. - The methods of determining the criteria for assessing rice quality have been improved. By these methods, the study has evaluated the quality of Seng Cu rice in Muong Vi. The measured data showed that Seng Cu rice in Muong Vi has superiority over other rice varieties and commercial rice types (morphology, starch content, gelation). Since then, the history of Seng Cu rice quality control over the years has been built up as well as providing more scientific values about the quality of Seng Cu rice cultivated in Muong Vi to consumers. - Developed a method to treat samples and optimize operating conditions of analytical equipment in determining the residues of pesticides in water, arable land, and rice. The method of screening 656 pesticides was applied to commercial rice samples and detected that chemicals banned from use in Vietnam were still present in commercial rice samples. The construction method ensured a high accuracy, reproducibility and can be used to screen for pesticides on rice before it is exported. The pesticide content in Seng Cu rice still reached the allowable MRL threshold. - Conducted analysis and evaluation of Raman and FTIR spectral data in traceability in rice. By using multivariable data processing algorithms, the study was successful in identifying rice species based on FTIR spectrum and distinguishing Seng Cu rice in Muong Vi and commercial rice based on Raman spectral data. With fast analysis, high flexibility, non-destructive sample structure combined with data constructed in the study, Raman and FTIR methods become potential methods to identify Seng Cu rice in Muong Vi to control product quality. - Conducted chloroplast gene analysis and a phylogenetic tree of the Seng Cu rice variety. This is a typical rice variety for the Lao Cai region and is correlated with other varieties like Tianzhuang 502 and O. indica. - Conducted analysis and evaluation of stable isotope ratio of general Vietnamese rice and Seng Cu rice in particular. The obtained data have demonstrated that Vietnamese rice has a significant difference in stable isotope ratios δ13C, δ15N, δ16O and δ2H compared with rice from other countries. From this, it can be seen that the method of determining the stable isotope ratio is suitable for tracing the origin of rice from Vietnam. - A spectral dataset (LC-HRMS, GC-HRMS, Raman, FTIR) has been built for Seng Cu Muong Vi, Muong Khuong, Lao Cai rice objects. - Research has succeeded in constructing a database of quality and food safety standards in Seng Cu rice in Muong Khuong. By the obtained results, the research was successful in protecting Seng Cu rice products in Muong Khuong. Training: 01 Master |
| Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results | - Research was carried out to construct a database on the physico-chemical properties, morphology, quality, and metal content of Seng Cu rice in Muong Vi, Lao Cai. - The study completed the dataset on properties of soil, water, and fertilizer used in the cultivation of Seng Cu rice in the Muong Vi region, Lao Cai. - The study developed a method for analyzing pesticide residues and the value of the method was validated based on the European standard SANTE/12682/2019. The developed method has a high potential for application in the control of pesticide residues before marketing. - Research has been carried out to apply the specificity of the spectroscopic method to trace the origin of Seng Cu rice. The obtained results demonstrated the potential of spectroscopic methods (specifically, Raman and FT-IR spectroscopy) to assess the type and origin of agricultural products in general and Seng Cu rice in particular. - The study successfully developed a Vietnamese rice traceability process based on the combination of the stable isotopic ratio analysis and the determination method of several metals in rice samples. The results obtained show that Vietnamese rice has its characteristics in terms of metals content as well as the ratio of stable isotopes compared to rice from other countries. The discriminant capacity of the constructed model has a confidence level > 90%. |
