Project’s budget 113.8706 million VND
Classify Excellent
Goal and objectives of the project

Establishing types of mineral deposits and building genetic models for the formation of Sn-W mineral deposits in northern Vietnam.

Main results

Biotite Ar-Ar age is 85.5 ± 0.7 Ma for sulfide ore, which is consistent with the biotite Ar-Ar age of 84.1 ± 0.7 Ma and U-Pb zircon of 87 Ma for Cretaceous granite, indicating that the Nui Phao deposit is genetically related to the Cretaceous two-mica granite
The initial ore-forming fluid at the Nui Phao and Thien Ke deposits is represented by the reduced (CO2-CH4)–H2O–NaCl(CaCl2) system characterized by high temperatures and moderate salinities, which are analogous to a reduced intrusion-related ore-forming fluids.
The oxygen and sulfur isotope systematics suggest that the ore-forming fluid was generated from granite pluton.
Scheelite geochemistry indicates an increasing trend of fO2 from the early dark scheelite to the late light scheelite.
Education and tranining:
The project helped 01 Ph.D. student who is a member of the project studying in Russia to collect samples in Vietnam for the student's thesis.
Implementing these projects will help improve the scientific cooperation relationship between the parties.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Systematic studies on magmatic rocks and ores suggest their origin, as well as the relationship between them, specifically, mineralization in the Nui Phao mine, which was formed in the period of 85 Ma related its formation with Da Lien granites
