Theoretical results: - Isolated, elucidated structures and evaluated bioactivities of 3 curcuminoids from turmeric (purities are more than 95% by HPLC method). - Created a database of multi pesticides residues, heavy metals mycotoxins, food addictives, and curcuminoids contents of turmeric (Curcuma longa) for further analysis of the quality and geographical origins of the products. - Isolated and elucidated the structures of 2 cyanide glycosides, 4 flavonoid glycosides ( 1 new compound), and 2 lignan glycosides from leaves of Moringa oleifera. Niarizin and Astragalin with purities higher than 95% were used as referenced materials for further quantitation of these compounds in Moringa oleifera products. - Created a database of multi pesticides residues, heavy metals, mycotoxins, food addictives, and secondary metabolites contents of Moringa oleifera products from several sources in the food supply chain of Vietnam. - Created a database of multi pesticides residues, heavy metals mycotoxins, and essential oil composition of lemon grasses from different origins. Applied the database, together with multivariate statistical methods for quality evaluation of lemongrass samples in the food supply chain. - Isolated and elucidated structures of 4 compounds from Camellia flava flowers. Created and applied the database of heavy metals and secondary metabolites contents of Camellia flava flowers for quality evaluation of Camellia flava products in the food supply chain. Applied results: - Collected 185 samples of turmeric, 37 samples of Moringa oleifera products, 55 samples of lemongrass, 32 samples of Camellia flava flowers from agricultural farms, wholesale markets, food manufacturers, supermarkets, and minimarts, for quality evaluation of products in the food supply chain. - Present an advanced method to control the quality of several products in the food supply chain with 5 criteria, such as limits of multi pesticides residues, heavy metals mycotoxins, food addictives, and curcuminoids contents of the products from 4 steps in the food supply chain, including production, wholesaling, processing, and retail. The method has been applied for 4 types of agricultural plants, such as turmeric, lemongrass, Moringa oleifera, and Camellia flava. - Education and training: Training 01 Ph.D. student and 01 Master. |
