Successful preparation of anti-fouling eco-friendly paint system based on Cu2O and some anti-bacteria organic materials.

Science results:
- 01 VAST1 science paper was published.
- 01 patent has been accepted by Intellectual Property Office of Viet Nam
- 01 master student was graduated under supervision of project leader.

- 01 data sheets about copper releasing of coating
Application results:
- 50 kilograms of primer paint coating and 50 kilograms of anti-fouling paint coating satisfying technical standards has been produced and sold to Lam Hai Phong trading and construction join stock company.
- Paint coating systems has been testing at ITT testing station of Quảng Ninh beach.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

Process of making antifouling primers and coatings based on Zinc acrylate copolymer resins using Cu2O nano in combination with Seanine 211 has a practical use time of not less than 22 months at Quang Ninh beach.

Products of the project

- Published paper:
Study of copper releasing rate from copolymer vinyl/Cu2O/Seanine 211-based anti-fouling paint coating (Journal of Chemistry – VAST1)
- Patent:
Production method of anti-fouling paint coating based on nano Cu2O combing micro-Cu2O and 4,5-dichloro-2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (seanine 211) and anti-fouling paint coating produced by this method.
- Product:
+ 50 kilograms of primer paint coating and 50 kilograms of anti-fouling paint coating satisfying technical standards has been produced and sold to Lam Hai Phong trading and construction join stock company.

Recommendations

In order to improve the knowledge about anti-fouling paint coating, we hope Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology agree to expanse this research to complete the production procedure at pilot scale.
