Goal and objectives of the project

To provide the most updated database on the bat faunas of the study islands where bats were either unstudied or poorly studied;
To identify the current distributional and conservation status of threatened and/or endemic species for conservation actions, monitoring and management;
To contribute data on echolocation to a target national database on bat echolocation for monitoring and conservation of precious and endemic species.

Main results

Theoretical results:
- The updated checklist of bats from the survey areas comprising 26 species belonging to 15 genera, 8 families.
-Preliminary data on diet and habitats of bat species inhabiting the survey areas; particularly valuable data on diet of insectivorous bat species.
- Echolocation features of bat species belonging to suborder Yangochiroptera of the survey areas.
Applied results: The project results will be an important reference for a wide range of subjects including education, training, scientific research and conservation.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- The most updated database of bat diversity in the survey areas.
- An updated database on conservation status of each species inhabiting the survey area.
-  An updated database on echolocation of bat species inhabiting the survey areas.
